McKenzie Kil-A-BytesRecent NewsMarch 18, 2008: The McKenzie Robotics team traveled to its second regional at Purdue University. Once again, the team was extremely successful, bagging its second regional title of the year as well as the imagery award. With the Buckeye Regional and the Championship Event left, the team is hoping this season's success continues! March 4, 2008: This past weekend, the McKenzie Kil-A-Bytes traveled to Chicago to participate in the Midwest Regional. Our hard work paid off, and we ended up winning the regional, the team's first regional win since winning the Michigan Regional in 2004. Not only did we win the regional, we were chosen for the Motorola Quality Award. February 10, 2008: After a few roadblocks, a full prototype of our robot tossed a ball over the overpass. Items that we still have yet to do include tranferring parts into the painted robot, installing and testing sensors, and many, many more trials! February 4, 2008: Well ahead of schedule, our team is quickly putting together the first full robot to be tested and improved over the last few weeks of build season. We are confident it will turn out to be another great year! January 5, 2008: Welcome to the new season! The McKenzie Kil-a-Bytes ventured down to the IUPUI Campus to watch the live Kick-off Broadcast aired by NASA. Good luck to all teams, and have fun with FIRST Overdrive! December 13, 2007: With the end of the preseason quickly approaching, the team is getting ready to attend the kick-off event broadcasted at IUPUI on January 5. All members should attend and must talk to Mr. Smith if other circumstances arise. August 16, 2007: The team application for 2007-2008 is now available online. Please fill it out and return by Friday, September 14 to Mr. Smith at McKenzie Career Center. You may download a copy or fill this application out online. You won't regret it! April 30, 2007: All upperclassmen interested in applying for a spot on the team for the 2007-2008 season are required to fill out and turn in a team application by Friday, June 15th. Please fill this form out online or download a hard copy. These forms MUST be returned to Mr. Smith or Mr. Svarczkopf at McKenzie Career Center. April 25, 2007: The team was named as one of this year's Web Excellence Award recipients. Congratulations to the web team for their accomplishments! April 1, 2007: The team is now midway through our competition season, with strong showings of our robots potential at the Buckeye and Boilermaker Regionals. The team is now prepping for nationals - see you in Atlanta! February 19, 2007: Be sure to come to our robot send-off banquet! Our finished robot will be showcased to our parents along with announcements at our dinner. After final touches, we'll crate our robot up and ship it! January 6, 2007: Welcome to the Build Season!
